Getting there

Well the Revolution video has stopped for today as I am preparing for a demo in Cornwall on Saturday. It will certainly be a bit different to driving on the American roads and take longer, but I don;t think you can better the English countryside for shear beauty.

Hopefully I will get the video finished early next week in between a couple of students coming for tuition.

Then I should be able to get back to working on my new designs that were started before my trip away. At the moment I am getting witdrawl symptoms from not being able to play with new work/ideas but the bills have to be paid and I can't think of a better way to do it.

Here in the mean time are a few more pictures of the AAW instant gallery. One of me going through my golf swing before the doors opened. Although people did manage to get in early somehow.! I think they must have crawled inthrough the air extraction vents. :-).

Woodturners are quite a resorceful bunch when they want to get to get their hands on tools and machines.

Hi Mark,

Some seriously beautiful work eh? I love the trident natural edge bowls, they really are wonderful.

You look totally in your element at the stand, well done mate.

Cheers,

Lee.

Hi Lee

Yes there was some pretty amazing work there.

On the lathe I was just chillin. Thank fully I have gotten over the jitters that comes with demonstrating. Not sayng that things never go wrong, but now I just smile/have a chuckle and carry on.

:-)

Great stuff Mark, glad you had a good time and met loads of stimulating turners and saw their work first hand rather than in pics on the Web.
Thanks for sharing the pictures and your thoughts on your experiences. I feel sure that the excitement and visual/sensory stimulus you experienced will surface in your work over time.

Can't be kicking damaged hollow forms around the demo room now can you? LOL!

Hi Philip

It was a great experience, and has packed me full of excitment, that there are different ideas and ways of doing things, just have to find them. Hopefully as you say this will come over time.

Lee

ha ha, no I save that for my own workshop.

Thank you both again for your interest.

Hi Mark,

Had a look through the symposium picks, everyone a master in their own right, it's a shame you didn't manage to include any of your own work.

I think the chilli pieces we discussed would have been admired and cheshired as equals amongst the others at least.

Nice one,

Lee.

Hi Lee

Yes I agree, my chilli pieces would have been good to have been included, but I just did not have the time to get them finished before I went which was a shame. But hey ho there is always next year in California. Just have to work out how I am going to get me and the family there. Might have to be a stow away for a few days.
